Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

At Dans-Scene Studios, the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every child and young person is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel valued, respected and able to enjoy dance free from harm, abuse or discrimination.

Everyone involved with Dans-Scene Studios shares a responsibility to promote the welfare of children and young people.

Our Commitment

Dans-Scene Studios is committed to:

  • Promoting the welfare and wellbeing of every child.

  • Providing a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

Our Responsibilities

We aim to:

  • Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

  • Ensure all teaching staff behave professionally and appropriately.

  • Promote respect, kindness and positive behaviour.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries between staff and students.

  • Encourage open communication with parents and carers.

Photography & Video

Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during classes, rehearsals, performances and events.

Where images or videos feature children for promotional purposes, appropriate consent will always be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.

Parents who do not wish their child to be photographed should inform Dans-Scene Studios.

Health & Safety

Reasonable steps are taken to provide a safe environment for all students.

Parents or guardians should inform us of:

  • Medical conditions

  • Allergies

  • Injuries

  • Additional support needs

  • Emergency contact details

This information helps us respond appropriately in the event of an emergency.

Reporting Concerns

If a parent, guardian, student or member of staff has concerns regarding the welfare or safety of a child, they are encouraged to report these concerns as soon as possible to Dans-Scene Studios.

All concerns will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and dealt with appropriately.

Where necessary, advice may be sought from the appropriate safeguarding authorities.

Online Safety

We are committed to promoting safe and responsible use of digital platforms.

Communication with parents will normally take place through approved communication channels.

We do not knowingly communicate privately with children through personal social media accounts.

Equality & Inclusion

Dans-Scene Studios welcomes students from all backgrounds.

We are committed to providing an environment free from discrimination, bullying, harassment and abuse.

Every student has the right to feel safe, respected and supported.

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to reflect current safeguarding guidance and the needs of Dans-Scene Studios.
